What was the purpose of this program? Responsible liscenced gun owners handed in firearms to police in return for digital cameras. Ridiculously enough, all the pistols collected were insignificant in the fight against gun crimes on Toronto streets. I'll assume the Toronto Police Force did their research, and applied a little bit of common sense in the developemnt of their 'Pixels for Pistols' program.
I can assure the implementation of this scheming plan had only two purposes.
First, it was excellent PR in the war against gang and gun related crimes. Unfortunately, those who know the 'score' are clearly aware this program was completely useless in their so called fight against the bad guys.
Second, for those who have been observant or have even the slightest inkling of the steady deterioration of our privacy, rights and freedoms, disarming masses of responsible citizens is key to easing the transition towards martial law!
Sounds like paranoia? You are intelligent enough to draw your own conclusions!
